Eagle Ray Season in Cozumel
Eagle Ray Season in Cozumel
I do frequently get asked by people interested in scuba diving in Cozumel when the best time of year is to see spotted eagle rays. We usually see the most eagle rays in Cozumel between January and March. Of course, there are the few that arrive early or stay late and we do see them on occasion throughout the year.

Here are a few videos I've taken while scuba diving in Cozumel, Mexico and other nearby places. From my experience, Cozumel is consistently the best place to scuba dive in the Caribbean.

Scuba Diving in Cozumel and Spotted Eagle Rays
Scuba Diving in Cozumel and Spotted Eagle Rays
Spotted eagle rays, Aetobatus narinari, are a cartilaginous fish of the eagle ray family, Myliobatidae. They live in tropical waters around the world (including both sides of the American continents).
A group of spotted eagle rays, manta rays, stingrays, devil rays or any other ray is a fever of rays – though admittedly when I see them gliding this gracefully in formation, I like to thinking of them as a squadron.

We usually see the most eagle rays in Cozumel between January and March. Of course, there are the few that arrive early or stay late and we do see them on occasion throughout the year. While they are usually solitary creatures, during “cozumel eagle ray season” I have seen fevers of spotted eagle rays as large as 20 to 25 animals and Luis has said that he’s seen even large groups!
Scuba diving in Cozumel, Mexico with spotted eagle rays is absolutely amazing! We have videos, facts and information about Cozumel's eagle ray season here…

6 Unique Things to Do in Cozumel, Mexico
6 Unique Things to Do in Cozumel, Mexico
With so many things to do in Cozumel, it’s no wonder why this island in Mexico is one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean! The vibrant blue-green waters are full of coral reefs and tropical fish, while the white-sand beaches are home to some of the best resorts, bars and restaurants in the country. The scuba, snorkeling, tacos and tortas on this beautiful island are truly second to none.
Sometimes, however, a person just wants to do something different. Something new, off the beaten path or just get away from the throng of tourists aimlessly following another like a school of fish. If you’re looking to try some fun and unique things to do in Cozumel, you’ve got plenty of options!

Scuba Diving in Cozumel with ScubaLuis
Scuba Diving in Cozumel with ScubaLuis
Over the last two weeks I dove again with long-time dive buddies from Chicago, and Texas and we chose to dive with ScubaLuis this time. Luis is our favorite divemaster from ScubaTony who left and has opened his own dive shop in Cozumel. Luis is still the very best divemaster in Cozumel in my opinion but now he’s seriously upped the level of service and attention that he is able to give his clients.

The 5 Keys To Becoming A Real Life Escape Artist
As children, many people wanted to become escape artists. It is the reason why so many kids are fascinated with the game of “hide-and-seek”. It is a fun and exhilarating way to see how elusive people can be. As time goes by, people grow older and can get a similar joy out of our escape rooms in Cozumel. For those that stay the course, a career as an escape artist normally opens up. If you have no idea what an escape artist does, or even who some of the most famous escape artists have been, then you are sorely missing out. Does the name Harry Houdini ring a bell? No? Well it should. He was one of the greatest masters of escapology to ever walk this planet.
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become a real-life escape artist, but there are some key hurdles that any aspiring escapologist must cross. These keys are essential to the escaping from any situation, and they will undoubtedly come in handy for anyone who wants to actively pursue the life of an escape artist. Without further ado, I present to you the keys to becoming a real-life escape artist.

Lionfish Hunting in Cozumel
While invasive lionfish are a terrible problem, we are excited that the word is getting out about the massive problem lionfish are causing in the Western Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. Consequently, Cozumel has largely gotten the invasion under control but the island still needs our help to hunt lionfish and keep the damage they are doing to our underwater world to a minimum.
Will you help?

While the majority of organizations realize that the secret to success is consistent teamwork, the most successful organizations actually engage in targeted team-building exercises at least once each year. One of the best team-building exercises available can be found in the popular new gaming phenomenon known as “escape room games.” Escape rooms have the unique ability to offer organizations a way to increase the performance of the individual, as well as the team as a whole.

5 Star Review for Cozumel Escape Room!

5 Star Review for Cozumel Escape Room!
"Escape rooms are growing fast in popularity, and we like to try new ones wherever we travel. This is the first one in Cozumel, and at the time we visited, only one room had opened (Maddie's Missing). I know that Scott (the owner of both the escape rooms and the bar) was close to getting the second and third rooms up and running. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into the room, and the puzzles will definitely keep you busy.
Scott was very welcoming and we really enjoyed talking with him before and after doing the escape room. We definitely plan to come back when we are next in Cozumel."

Escape Room Cozumel is the 4th escape room in Mexico.

Escape Rooms are popping up all over the United States, from San Diego to Denver to Boston, nearly 400 in all at about 150 different facilities.
The premise is simple: people pay about $30 each to get locked in a room filled with oblique clues–hidden objects, puzzles, riddles, encryptions that unlock boxes and so on–that, when solved, will allow them to discover a password, code or key that opens the door and leads to freedom and glory, or at least a drink.
